Thromb Headache Nausea Dizzy

A “thunderclap” headache of a ruptured aneurysm peaks instantly. Cluster headache peaks over 3 to 5 minutes, remains at maximum for 45 minutes, and then gradually recedes. Migraine builds over hours, lasts hours to days, and is improved with sleep.
Patients with post-lumbar puncture headache (PLPHA) characteristically present with frontal or occipital headache within 12 to 24 hours of the procedure that is exacerbated in an upright position and improved in the supine position.
Headache, which occurs in 10 to 30 percent of patients following lumbar puncture, is one of the most common complications of the procedure. Post-lumbar puncture headache is caused by leakage of CSF from the dura with resultant traction on pain-sensitive structures.
If migraine or a migrainelike headache and stroke occur together, it is difficult to determine whether migraine is the cause of the stroke or stroke is the cause of symptomatic migraine.
